To achieve my goal I will need to choose the song that has to do with the virtue of the month which is faith, and learn it myself. then I need to gloss it, after that I will give all kids from grade 4 to 8 the opportunity to come learn the alphabet and decide if they are interested and would like to commit. When I have students who are committed i will split them up into groups based on skill level and teach them parts of the song based on group because I believe it will be too complicated for them to learn the whole song. Then we will need to present to the school for the June assembly.

My Passion Project Blog One
For my passion project I decided to teach kids a song in sign language, and present it at a school virtue of the month assembly. I decided to do this because I know on the sign language and want to share it with others and hopefully get others interested in learning to sign to benifet them and give them oppourtunities to communicate with more people and be confident.

i like how you are teaching kids how to do and how you are presenting it to the school , that is really cool because some kids don´t know how to sign language.
ReplyDeleteYour project sounds like a success! Make sure that the kids actually come to the meetings because I know that they might have something else going on. You may also want to create a way for the kids to work at home since sign language is a lot of memorizing. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteAliyah, I really like your idea! I know personally that you have been practicing sign language for a long time and I think it's great that your sharing your passion with everyone. It's also great that you choose a song that has to do with the virtue of the month. I know it's been hard since people were not coming to practices so I think it's awesome that you didn't let that faze you and you worked really well with the group that you had.
